October 2025: Trail Creek Bridge & Highway 75 Update

  • Project Overview
  • ITD is upgrading Highway 75 from Elkhorn Road to River Street, including replacing the aging Trail Creek Bridge.
  • Final decisions on lane configuration (2 vs. 4 lanes) are still pending.
  • 2 vs 4 Lanes – Awaiting Vote
  • Ketchum City Council will vote on the lane configuration soon.

  • Bike Path Clarification
  • Ketchum already has the Wood River Trail, a multi-use path parallel to Highway 75.
  • No new bike lanes on the highway are required by the ITD; whose focus is on lane count and pedestrian safety.
  • Near-Term Construction
  • From October 7, 2025, the Trail Creek Bridge will close for 2–4 weeks for gas line relocation.
  • Traffic will be detoured via Serenade Lane, Second Avenue, and Leadville Avenue.
  • Sidewalk access will be impacted.
  • Full bridge reconstruction starts in 2026 after final approvals.

  • Cooler temps = perfect trail conditions. Check out White Clouds trails or hop on the Wood River Trail for a mellow ride.

🎣 Fly Fishing & River Walks

  • Local outfitters still offer guided fly fishing, or stroll near the Big Wood River to enjoy the sound of the water and fall colors.

  • Stop by the Sun Valley Museum of Art or catch a show at The Argyros. October brings rotating exhibits, music, and talks indoors.
